Culinary Techniques QQI Level 5 – Castlebar Campus

This course aims to equip the learner with the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to produce a range of classical and contemporary dishes

Learners will be able to:

  • understand the structure and work flow of a professional kitchen.
  • have professional appearance necessary for the kitchen environment and to take personal responsibility for food safety
  • produce a range of traditional, seasonal and regional dishes and accompaniments
  • develop the academic and vocational language, literacy and numeracy skills related to culinary techniques.

Examination fee of €20 is payable for non medical card holders for certification of the course. If you have a valid medical card you will be exempt from the examination fee but a copy of this must be emailed on application to
