This one-year Social Studies and Youth Work course is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in the youth and community sector or progress to further education in the areas of youth work or social studies. It is ideal for anyone who would enjoy working with young people in a variety of social settings, who’s values would include the empowerment of vulnerable people, equality and inclusion and respect for all young people. The learner will be provided with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a youth work context, to progress to further or higher education and or training.

Course Duration

This is a full-time one-year course which runs from September to May.

Entry Requirements

A Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent is required, although exceptions are given to mature students who are over 23 years of age. Entry is subject to interview.
