Mayo College of Further Education and Training offers a fresh and vibrant place to study. We have over 60 Level 5 and Level 6 courses all offering progression and employment opportunities. These courses run across our locations in Mayo including Ballina, Castlebar, Ballinrobe, Swinford, Belmullet, Claremorris and Westport.

We have an extensive Erasmus+ programme with partners in over 15 EU countries and destinations outside the EU including Canada and New Zealand.

Our Night school offers a range of Hobby and Certified courses that are scheduled over evenings and weekends including the very popular Green Cert in Agriculture.

Welcome to Mayo College of Further Education and Training

We offer a fresh and vibrant place to study and our aim is to ensure that lifelong learning opportunities are available to all. Students on our PLC courses may receive Level 5 or Level 6 awards which are nationally recognised and which are a stepping stone to further study or training. While many of our students go directly into the world of work, increasing numbers progress to higher educational opportunities.

Our Courses

Art Level 6 Westport

This one year Level 5 QQI course in Art provides a foundation in Art Studies and provides the opportunity to progress to employment or further study in the Art area. The course contains a mix of practical and theory elements with trips throughout the year. There is an opportunity to partake in Erasmus+ placements.

Agriculture Level 5 Westport

This one year Level 5 QQI course in Agriculture provides a foundation in Agriculture Studies and provides the opportunity to progress to employment or further study in the Agricultural area. Animal Care Level 5 Westport

This one year Level 5 QQI course in Animal Care provides a foundation in Animal Healthcare Studies and provides the opportunity to progress to employment or further study in the Animal Care area.
