Gordon is the Course Co-ordinator for Motor Technology at WCFE. He joined the teaching staff in 2009 and was responsible for setting up the Motor Technology course and equipping the Garage.
Gordon is a fully qualified Mechanic with over 28 years experience in the Motor Trade. He served his apprenticeship with an Independent garage in Dublin working with a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles.
On qualifying as a mechanic he completed The Advanced Motor Car Technological Certificate at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Bolton Street.
Much of Gordon’s career was then spent working for Ford Main Dealerships in both Dublin and Mayo. In 2004 he qualified as a Ford Master Technician.
Since entering teaching he has also taught in the Automobile Engineering Department at GMIT Galway and Youthreach Centres in Ballina and Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo.
Subjects taught at Westport CFE include Motor Vehicle Theory, Auto Electricity and Motor Vehicle Practice as part of the Motor Technology course. He also teaches Agricultural Mechanics and Night Class Welding.
