Creative Application Ceramics QQI Level 6 Westport Campus

The participant will be competent in having gained the knowledge skill and competence to autonomously use clay as a creative medium in a disciplined, critical and creative way.

As with all QQI awards achieving the learning outcomes are key to success.

In this award learners will be able to, among other learning outcomes:

Understand the historical and cultural role of ceramics in the craft sector.

Evaluate a comprehensive range of traditional and modern approaches to fine art ceramics in expressive ways.

Demonstrate good workshop practices.

Produce a body of work to exhibition standard.

Demonstrate critical awareness of own and others work.

Assessment

  • Portfolio / Collection of Work 60%
  • Project 40%

Examination fee of €20 is payable for non medical card holders for certification of the course. If you have a valid medical card you will be exempt from the examination fee but a copy of this must be emailed on application to [email protected]
