Linocut Printmaking

This summer course is an introduction to linocut printmaking using the reduction method.  You will be guided through all stages of the process from preparing the initial design drawing to the carving, inking and printing of the block. You will be encouraged to create a small edition of colour prints using this medium to develop and express your owns ideas and designs.

Materials

• Students will be provided with an A5 lino block, paper and inks.
• Cutting tools will also be provided for the course.

It will be necessary to bring:

• Some ideas, source material, photos or drawings.
• An apron.
• Pencils and colouring pencils.
