Overview
Develop the skills and confidence to safely lead groups on Lowland walks across Ireland & the U.K countryside. This 12-week programme combines classroom learning, practical fieldwork, and peer-led consolidation walks to ensure comprehensive leadership and navigation competence.

What You Will Learn
- Mountaineering Ireland Lowland Leader syllabus and assessment
- Navigation, route planning, and hazard management
- Group leadership, inclusive practice, and emergency procedures
- Environmental awareness, heritage interpretation, and ecology
- Recording and reflecting on walks using Mountaineering Ireland’s D-Log
Course Format
- 2 days per week for 12 weeks
- 20 peer-led consolidation walks incorporating themed elements such as flora & fauna, heritage, culture, and ecology
- Mountaineering Ireland accredited assessment
