Our full-time QQI accredited QQI Level 5 award in Media Studies (Creative Media) leads directly to employment and/or to progression to a number of further education or third level institutes. On successful completion of the QQI Level 5 award in Media Studies (Creative Media) learners will have the skills, knowledge and competencies to work under supervision in one of the following broad range of roles – as an assistant in Television, Film, Advertising, Publishing, Photo Imaging industries or to progress to further and or higher education and training.
The successful completion of the QQI Level 5 award in Media Studies (Creative Media) will enable applicants to work in a variety of creative media industries. Students can also progress to more specialised creative media courses at further/higher education/degree level. All students will also complete 60 hours in a work experience placement as part of their studies on this course.
No formal qualifications are required. However, applicants must demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course.

Be able to visualise and plan all the stages involved in the production and manipulation of digital images. Students will learn the key techniques of image processing and how to use a range of computer hardware and software, configured for image processing purposes.
In this module students will be equipped with the knowledge, skill and competence to identify successful media practices using the theoretical framework that underpins practical media work.
The purpose of this module is to develop the skills required to reproduce professional standard images. The student will acquire a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of digital photographic production. They will also develop practical, critical and creative skills in the production of digital photographic images.
