Course Outline
The Multimedia & Digital Marketing (Creative Media) program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to prepare them for work or further education in the ever-evolving digital marketing and creative media industries.
Award
Successful completion of this course will result in a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Creative Media 5M5048
Course Duration
This is a one year, full time course running from September to May.
Entry Requirements
A Leaving Certificate or equivalent is required, although exceptions are given to mature students who are over 23 years of age. Acceptance to the course is also based on an interview which takes place a few weeks after applications have been submitted.

Course Content
- Digital Marketing
Explore the world of online marketing, from SEO and SEM to social media campaigns. Gain an understanding of digital marketing strategies, how to analyse data, and optimise campaigns to achieve business goals.
- Advertising
Learn the principles of advertising, both traditional and digital, with a focus on creating engaging content that resonates with target audiences. Study the various platforms and tools available to marketers, from display ads to influencer marketing.
- Media Analysis
Dive deep into the analysis of digital media platforms, understanding audience behaviours, trends, and engagement metrics. Learn how to interpret data to create impactful marketing strategies and optimise content.
- Communications
This module emphasises the importance of clear, persuasive, and engaging communication across digital platforms, helping to craft messages that connect with the audience. It also covers research and writing skills and preparation of as well as practice in public speaking.
- Work Experience
Gain real-world experience through industry placements and project work. This practical component allows students to apply their knowledge in real marketing environments, helping to build professional networks and enhance employability. (All students will complete 60 hours in a work experience placement as part of their studies on this course).
- Digital Studio Photography
Learn the art and technicalities of digital photography, focusing on product photography, branding, and visual content creation. Master the tools needed to capture high-quality images for online marketing materials and social media campaigns.
- Word Processing
Master word processing software and develop strong document creation and formatting skills. This module ensures that students are proficient in creating professional marketing content, reports, and other business documentation.
- The Internet
Explore the technical and functional aspects of the internet. Gain an understanding of web development basics, online content management, and how to leverage internet-based tools and platforms for digital marketing purposes.
