COURSE OVERVIEW

Students on this course will acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in the theory, principles and practices involved in a range of business scenarios and be able to work independently or in a supervisory capacity in a variety of business contexts and/or progress to higher education and training.  Successful students will be awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Business. All students complete a 60 hours work experience placement as part of their studies on this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A QQI/FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Business Administration (5M2468) or equivalent.

The Advanced Business Administration Certificate supports a wide range of career options at supervisory level. This programme is an ideal choice for anyone seeking a higher-level role in administration. Content covered includes the theory and practice of supervisory level roles in business and administration, as well as detailed practical skills including book-keeping, payroll and business management.

This course will enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in the area of business at an advanced level in order to work a range of office / business contexts and / or to progress to higher education and training.

 

Participants will:

  • be qualified to obtain positions in professional, financial and public sector employment.
  • obtain solid practical experience in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams etc) as well as Payroll & Book-keeping systems
  • gain practical experience of employment preparation through creating and updating their CV, interview simulations and 60 hours of work experience
  • use a range of digital media throughout the course, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Elements & Adobe Dreamweaver, Canva, KineMaster, etc. (to produce materials including images, sound and video, for use in the creation of web pages/social media posts & online publications)
