Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Care Practice from ATU Sligo Level 8, Postgraduate Diploma in Inclusive and Special Education Level 9 from ATU St. Angela’s Sligo. A Higher Diploma and Masters of Education Level 9 from National University of Ireland Maynooth. Carmel is also trained in Technology Enhanced Learning from The National College of Ireland and Universal design for Learning Training from AHEAD in Blackrock Dublin.
Carmel is Course Co-ordinator on the QQI Level 5 Certificate Programme Disability Studies with SNA. She teaches on the Applied Social Studies, Early Learning and Care and Disability Studies with SNA QQI Level 5 programmes.
In the past Carmel has been responsible for organising student needs assessments, providing training in study skills, assignment support, making funding applications to Solas and providing guidance to teachers, students, guidance counsellors and external bodies regarding educational supports available.
Carmel enjoys travelling to different countries and experiencing different cultures, traditions and foods. She also enjoys cooking and baking.
