Eileen McNamara – Coordinator, Sports Studies & Exercise Science, Acting Assistant Principal
Eileen has qualifications in both Sport and Healthcare. She is a certified Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Health Coach, and Sports Massage Therapist and has worked with a variety of athletes from youth to adult, involving roles in both club and intercollegiate levels.
Eileen holds a BSc, Honours in Respiratory Care and has over 12 years clinical experience in hospital and skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, she is a qualified Instructor with Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), Irish Heart Foundation (IHF), as well as Patient and Manual Handling.
She has been teaching for 25+ years and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Programme Development and Validation from NUI Maynooth. She plays an active role in programme validation at Mayo College and is Coordinator of the Level 5 Sports programmes.
She enjoys the outdoors, keeping active, and reading.
