Michael has a Higher Diploma in Education from Trinity College, University of Dublin and a degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Limerick. He has also completed the Ceard Teastas Gaelige with the Department of Education.
Michael first stated teaching with Mayo VEC in Davitt College before changing to the private sector and working in financial services with the Royal Bank of Scotland and Coca Cola. He has over ten year’s experience as a company director in the SME sector. He returned to education in 2013, teaching Economics, Business and Mathematics to A level in London. He joined Mayo College in 2019, since then he has taught many subjects and is a course coordinator. He has also completed the AHEAD Start programme helping him support students with learning difficulties in the college. He also offers IT support to all students and assistive technology supports to students who require it. He is currently managing the development of Apprenticeships in Accounting, Digital Marketing and Sales for the college.
